SEC Analyst

Do you want to work for a leading SaaS vendor? MuleSoft is going through a period of explosive growth and we want a SEC Reporting Analyst to join our growing Accounting team. MuleSoft has a growing portfolio of disruptive integration products and is changing the enterprise technology market.

MuleSoft has a unique opportunity for someone to work within the company’s Corporate Accounting team. This position will be hands-on in supporting the company’s external reporting needs as well as management reporting. The ideal candidate will be able to identify inefficiencies and push for improvements across our global cross-functional team. You will be the first person in this new role, and will help MuleSoft shape the way we do reporting for years to come.

About the Position:

In this role you will: 

  • Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will manage required external filings
  • Draft reports to management to ensure MuleSoft is making data-driven decisions
  • Assist with the preparation of all financial statements and related disclosures
  • Draft and maintain global accounting policies and memos
  • Keep business partners aware of developments in accounting and financial reporting
  • Assist in technical research on complex accounting issues
  • Help coordinate the annual audit
  • Ensure alignment with Finance, Legal, and other internal related business partners

Position Deliverables:

30 days:

  • Understand the company’s external reporting needs
  • Become proficient using NetSuite’s reporting functions

60 days:

  • Identify inefficiencies in current reporting practices and take steps to make improvements
  • Begin designing reports that will help management make informed decisions

90 days:

  • Manage external filing requirements
  • Write and develop internal policies that will help the accounting team scale

About You:

  • 2-3 years’ relevant experience from public accounting and/or public multinational high-tech companies
  • A passion for the details combined with a knack for big picture goals
  • Excellent communication skills with manager, high-level executives, and colleagues
  • A “do whatever it takes” attitude
  • Self-starter who relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, risk and changing direction of projects and strategies
  • GAAP and ERP systems experience (preferably NetSuite)
  • An affinity for a strong company culture with smart teammates that care about making a huge impact
  • CPA required (or on a clear CPA path)
