Sales Compensation Manager

MuleSoft is looking for a highly skilled Sales Compensation Manager to join our growing sales compensation team. This newly created position will be responsible for managing, analyzing and designing MuleSoft's compensation plans and processes. This person thrives in a fast-paced culture that values strategic communication, teamwork and results. He or she is a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with an eye for automation, process improvement and problem solving.

Sales compensation at MuleSoft works closely with sales operations, FP&A, the CFO and the sales organization to align sales incentives with the strategic goals of MuleSoft in order to fuel our explosive growth. Additionally, we provide analytical support for the company's long-term financial plan, executive-level reporting to sales leaders and actionable insights that inform better decisions as we strive to build one of the world's greatest software companies.

Goals for your first 3 months:

30 days:

  • Gain familiarity with MuleSoft's business model, systems, compensation plans, and processes
  • Provide support through Callidus Cloud for compensation related inquiries and requests

60 days:

  • Manage and administer compensation plans as well as identify areas for automation and process improvements
  • Create compensation and performance reporting and analytics for individuals and sales managers
  • Work cross functionally to identify improvements and process improvements around commission operations

90 days:

  • Be a trusted advisor to the sales organization and recommend solutions to compensation and performance issues
  • Create new compensation plans for new hires, and revise existing plans for role changes
  • Work on ad-hoc analyses as requested by the company’s sales leaders
  • Utilize Callidus Cloud to create reports and analytics that will measure the health of the sales organization
  • Analyze current plans, performance, and capacity to inform compensation planning

About You:

  • 5+ years of analytical experience in sales ops, business ops, strategic planning, finance, or related fields
  • BS/BA in accounting, finance, economics, sciences or other quantitative field
  • Intellectual curiosity to regularly challenge the status quo
  • A “do whatever it takes” attitude to drive change within the organization
  • Ability to work well with a variety of personalities towards a common goal
  • Customer service oriented and can deal with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Strong enthusiasm, drive and a desire to learn
  • Experience with enterprise software companies and SAAS business models is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Tableau, Salesforce and/or compensation software (e.g. Xactly, Callidus, NetSuite, Cognos) is a plus
