Sales Commission Operations Analyst

MuleSoft is looking for a highly skilled Sales Commission Operations Analyst/Senior Analyst to join our growing Global Sales Compensation team. This newly created position will own, administer, operate, and implement our new CallidusCloud tool. The Analyst will have the opportunity to provide reporting to management and continuously improve our commission business process and policies. This person thrives in a fast-paced culture that values strategic communication, teamwork and results. He or she is a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with an eye for automation, process improvement and problem solving.

Sales compensation at MuleSoft works closely with Sales Operations, People Operations, FP&A, and the entire Sales organization to align sales incentives with MuleSoft's strategic goals in order to fuel our explosive growth. We provide analytical support for the company's long-term financial plan, executive level reporting to sales leaders and actionable insights to inform decisions as we strive to build one of the world's greatest software companies.

Position Deliverables:

30 days:

  • Gain familiarity with MuleSoft's business model, systems, compensation plans and processes
  • Reconcile compensation plan data with systems of record and explain variances

60 days:

  • Fully utilize CallidusCloud capabilities to manage and administer compensation plans as well as identify areas for automation and process improvements
  • Create new compensation plans for new hires and role transfers
  • Create and generate compensation and performance reporting for individuals and sales managers

90 days:

  • Resolve commission case inquiries, be a trusted advisor to the sales organization and recommend solutions to compensation related issues
  • Provide support for cross-functional compensation related inquiries and requests – (e.g. payroll, accounting accruals, SOX support)
  • Create documentation around commission processes
  • Partner with departments to perform monthly/quarterly data audits and commission systems maintenance

 About You:

  • 3-6 years of related experience in accounting, finance operations, or sales compensation administration
  • BS/BA in accounting, finance, economics, sciences or other quantitative fields
  • Intellectual curiosity to regularly challenge the status quo
  • A “do whatever it takes” attitude to drive change within the organization
  • Ability to work well with a variety of personalities towards a common goal
  • Customer service oriented with the ability to deal with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Strong enthusiasm, drive and a desire to learn
  • Experience with enterprise software companies and SaaS business models
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Talbeau, Salesforce, and compensation software (e.g. Callidus, Xactly, Cognos, Netsuite, etc.) is a huge plus
