Principal Product Manager, Analytics, Data and AI

As a Principal Product Manager in Analytics, Data and AI group, you will help build Analytical and Data Science products for MuleSoft. You will work with a team that has experience from various engineering, data science, and product backgrounds that come together in a self-sustained product development team to deliver data products, platform, and services. You will have the opportunity to work directly with the executive team and c-levels on very high visibility projects with primary functional ownership that includes:

  • Analytics products that provide real-time information to MuleSoft users to better operate, visualize, and troubleshoot Application Networks
  • Intelligent AI services and platform to support Anypoint Platform powered by Data Science and Machine Learning technologies
  • Internal BI system, Data Platform, Product Analytics solution and related business metric tracking, ETL process and Data Warehouse components

Goals for your first three months: 

30 days:

  • Learn MuleSoft's business domain, architecture, and data structure
  • Observe and identify the process improvement and come up with a plan and timeline
  • Embed yourself with the development team and start to drive agile process
  • Make the top three projects requirement ready

60 days:

  • Master the knowledge of overall MuleSoft product offering, marketing need and internal BI need
  • Work across teams to define the data strategy
  • Partner with engineering partners to pivot, revise or create realistic release plans
  • Review the data science opportunities proposal from scientists and pitch to product executive and peer product managers

90 days:

  • Define a 2-year roadmap for all major data functional areas
  • Become the owner of the company’s data strategy and serve as the point person to bridge between marketing needs and product development
  • Keep up with the latest data science and machine learning trends in the expanded industry domain
  • Drive innovation and attend meet-ups and conferences to raise the data reputation of MuleSoft
  • Keep learning

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Fast learner qualities and can quickly synthesize ideas, information and options
  • Deep understanding of analytics, data platform and data science
  • Strong belief in customer empathy
  • SDLC experience with 360 cross functional impact
  • Experience in creating realistic release plan and identifying risks
  • Data driven and results oriented mindset and experience using A/B and analytical methodology
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering/Statistics or equivalent, advanced degree preferred
  • Prior experience as Software Engineer, Data Scientist or startup founders is a big plus
