Director of Developer Marketing and Relations

About the Team:

MuleSoft is looking for a developer marketing leader with a passion for technology who will lead our developer marketing programs and team. This is a high-profile position dedicated to promoting the success of MuleSoft developers worldwide.

About the Position:

This role reports to the Vice President of Corporate Marketing, who leads brand, creative, web, public relations, analyst relations, events, partner marketing and developer marketing at MuleSoft. We're looking for a leader to create MuleSoft's developer program strategy growing the community to 1M engaged developers by 2020.


  • Work across product, developer marketing, relations, evangelism to identify the programs that will create measurable impact
  • Define programs across marketing channels from social media, online, email marketing to developer onboarding and in product experience
  • Drive MuleSoft’s worldwide developer event strategy identifying which events to participate in, sponsor and host from small hack-a-thons to large conferences
  • Define the developer adoption funnel and key conversion points; implement ways to improve the level of engagement and adoption at every stage
  • Develop a prioritized roadmap for the build and roll out of developer tools, content, documentation, use cases and other tools needed for developers to be successful
  • Gather feedback from the developer community and internal teams including: product, product marketing and sales to understand developer needs
  • Serve as the lead for MuleSoft’s developer website, the primary online resource for our developer community 

Position Deliverables:

30 days:

  • Develop familiarity with MuleSoft product suite, solutions, positioning, and developer experience
  • Assess the current developer relations and marketing programs and identify areas of impact and opportunity

60 days:

  • Develop strategy to grow developer awareness, community and engagement across channels
  • Identify opportunities to improve developer onboarding experience on platform

90 days:

  • Operationalize marketing strategy and product onboarding plan
  • Measure and assess the effectiveness of efforts on developer reach and engagement
