Content Marketing Associate

MuleSoft is seeking a Content Marketing Associate to create compelling, high-value content that will guide enterprises through this journey. This role will be part of the Digital Marketing team and will work cross-functionally with every team in the company to plan, create, analyze and optimize marketing content for the entire customer lifecycle. The Content Marketing Associate will ladder up to Marketing goals and objectives and will plan innovative content campaigns, create high-quality assets, optimize those assets’ performance and work with the engineering, partner, and sales teams to distribute that content and maximize its value.

About the Position:

We’re looking for someone who creates content with a “customer-first, search engines second” mindset. We’re seeking an energetic self-starter with some research and reporting skills, who loves nothing more than digging in and finding a good story and telling it well. The person who will fill this role loves creating things, has innovative ideas, can use data for insight into business decisions and is willing to put in the time to follow through and execute well.

Responsibilities:

  • Create assets (eBooks, articles, infographics, whitepapers, blog posts, etc.) based on go-to-market strategy, customer needs and prospect search
  • Develop and execute innovative integrated digital content campaigns with lead gen and organic traffic success metrics
  • Create and maintain knowledge databases of audiences, personas, pain points, and successes
  • Maintain and enhance editorial calendars and customer journey maps
  • Manage multiple projects to stay on deadline and create appropriate release cadence
  • Analyze and optimize asset and campaign performance 

Position Deliverables:

30 Days:

  • Quickly come up to speed on MuleSoft’s products, market positioning, point of view and thought leadership
  • Shadow the team to understand digital marketing processes
  • Understand key business metrics, which content assets are best meeting them and why
  • Own a content campaign, build a plan for its success and execute on it

60 Days:

  • Maintain and enhance editorial calendar
  • Understand and enhance MuleSoft’s PESO (paid, earned, shared, owned media) strategy
  • Enhance and maintain content campaign calendar
  • Execute and enhance organic traffic generation campaigns, with the goal of meeting or exceeding 400K mulesoft.com visitors from organic search monthly
  • Perform quarterly content audit and enhance auditing process

90 Days:

  • Update outdated assets with new messaging to increase organic traffic to blog and whitepapers, ebooks and webinars by 20%
  • Start rolling out content assets as part of release plan, with a goal of 6000 leads and 90 SALs per month
  • Update and refine asset matrices
  • Update and enhance content release calendar 

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree or minor in literature, history, philosophy, statistics, economics or science
  • 3+ years work experience
  • Strong writing skills and understanding of story generation and storytelling techniques
  • Reporting skills a plus
  • Experience creating content for different personas and pain points
  • Project management skills to manage editorial schedules and deadlines
  • Understanding of digital marketing, content marketing and social media marketing
  • Ability to prioritize and manage various projects based on changing business requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence others without formal authority
  • Knowledge of SEO, social and digital marketing tactics
  • Proficiency in HTML
  • Demonstrated skills in collaboration, innovation and tenacity
  • Skilled at problem-solving and extracting insights from analysis
  • The ability to synthesize data, summarize issues and think outside the box is essential
