About the Team:

The Solutions Consulting team at MuleSoft is transforming how we drive Anypoint Platform deals by executing the MuleSoft vision of API-Led Connectivity with our prospects throughout the sales cycle.  By leading and challenging our prospects and customers to a provocative point of view on connectivity we define solutions to drive business outcomes and build industry and business thought leadership.

A great technical pre-sales organization will scale when it has a strategy that resonates strongly with the market and when it consistently delivers that strategy in every customer interaction with a strong link to the business outcomes of each prospect. Delivering this approach requires both deep customer intimacy with the technical teams from the CIO to the teams performing the integrations and a deep understanding of where the prospect is looking to take the business.  You are the unique person who can bridge these worlds and map the business drivers and outcomes onto an integration architecture and deployment process.  You will be responsible for making sure our connectivity strategy achieves resonance.

  • 65% of your time will be spent in the field in performing deep discovery of customer pain points from both the technical and business perspective and subsequently proposing a connectivity solution vision and corresponding value
  • 35% of your time will be at the office focused on account planning, supporting marketing with evangelism activities, feeding into the continuous improvement of the MuleSoft products and vision and mentoring other members of the Solutions Consulting team

 

About the Position:

  • Take a consultative role in key customer broad engagements
    • Partner with the Sales team, Solutions Consultant, Solution Delivery team, Customer Success manager and other MuleSoft teams
    • Operate independently in the opportunity for more than 75% of the time
    • Jointly present account plans to sales management
  • Communicate MuleSoft’s value proposition and business impacts effectively
    • Interact with all levels of the customer’s organisation up to and including C level as part of a technical and business reframe approach around MuleSoft’s connectivity approach
    • Articulate the solution capabilities and value proposition within a customer specific and market context
    • Think beyond traditional measures of value ($) and incorporate risk, time, quality and other KPIs in the value proposition
  • Perform deep discovery to diagnose customer pain points
    • Subsequently propose customer roadmaps/solution vision plans and corresponding value
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of MuleSoft products and strategies
    • Support Marketing with evangelism activities
    • Provide feedback from the field into Product Marketing, Product Management, office of the CTO and other key stakeholders

 

Position Deliverables:

  • 30 Days:
    • Complete the on-boarding process to come up to speed on MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and strategic approach to be able to deliver a presentation to the team around a current opportunity
    • Shadow other Client Architects and Solution Consultants in customer meetings
  • 60 Days:
    • Become MuleSoft certified
    • Be up to speed on the use of MuleSoft Client Architect assets including reference architecture, architecture workshops etc
    • Engaged with Sales, Service Delivery and Customer Success teams on opportunities
  • 90 Days:
    • Lead one or more opportunities and customers in driving MuleSoft strategic vision and architecture
    • Be engaged with C level executives on one or more opportunties

 

About You:

  • Solid educational and professional career track record
  • Proven enterprise integration architect with a deep understanding of enterprise technologies and business context, combined with a background in enterprise Java and web services development applied within the enterprise application integration space, combined with cloud services experience (e.g. SaaS, iPaaS and API-led connectivity):
    • Architectural experience with XML, JMS, SOAP and/or web services (WS-*) and other SOA/Integration technologies
    • Architectural experience of using Java and open systems frameworks and technologies across major enterprises (past experience as a Java Developer is preferred)
    • Architectural experience of high-performance database management software, enterprise hosted/SaaS and/or CRM deployments across major enterprises
  • Experience in integrating SaaS applications, such as Salesforce, Workday, Netsuite, Eloqua, Taleo, SuccessFactors, Rightnow, ServiceNow and Ariba is a bonus, but not required
  • Solid understanding of enterprise software frameworks and methodologies, such as PACE Layering, SDLC, TOGAF and Zachman Framework, and their application across major enterprises
  • Experience developing customer specific value propositions and roadmaps
  • Integration product experience is preferred (but not required). Other integration vendors include IBM, BEA, Oracle, TIBCO, etc.
  • Have a deep understanding of enterprise technologies and business context
  • Able to travel and work effectively throughout the assigned territory
