Job Summary

MUFG Americas is embarking on a business and technology transformation to effectively deliver five key business imperatives: Growth, Business Agility, Client Experience, Effective Controls, and Collaboration. To accomplish these imperatives, MUFG has launched a Transformation Program built upon the following foundation Pillars:

  • Core Banking Transformation Program
  • Data Governance, Infrastructure & Reporting Program
  • Technology Modernization Program

  • This position supports the Core Banking Transformation (CBT) Program . CBT is a multi-year effort to modernize our deposits platform with a world-class digitally-led and simplified ecosystem for consumer, small business, commercial and transaction banking to deliver exceptional customer experience and provide the bank a competitive advantage in the market. Our customers will benefit from streamlined and automated processes that simultaneously will provide the bank business process efficiencies and operational cost savings.

    Role Summary:

    The Core Banking Transformation technology team seeks a talented Atlassian Developer/Admin. This role is responsible for Administration and support of our Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence) instances. You will focus on building the firm's next generation project and delivery management platform and you will be a key player in helping the firm transform to an iterative delivery management model. You will Partner with cross-functional teams to design and implement Atlassian solutions consistent with industry best practices.

    Major Responsibilities:
    • Administer and support our Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence) instances
    • Gather requirements for business processes, and determine ways to optimize/improve JIRA setup and workflows, as well as identify where functionality can/cannot meet user requests
    • Create standardize "schemes" that can be easily leveraged on typical project types, and customize schemes for complex projects which provide optimal workflows, screens, fields queries, reports and dashboards
    • Architect roles and permissions structure
    • Create custom web hooks and build integrations in other systems
    • JIRA & Confluence plugin integration and configuration
    • Gather requirements for business processes, and determine ways to optimize/improve JIRA setup and workflows, as well as identify where functionality can/cannot meet user requests
    • Capture and evangelize tips / best practices for MUFG to make the most effective use of Atlassian tools
    • Provide JIRA training to users

    Required Education & Certifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, or equivalent professional experience

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

    • 7+ years of experience in a highly regulated environment (e.g., financial, government, healthcare, etc.)
    • Significant programming experience in at least one of Python, Groovy, Perl, Java, and/or .NET or equivalent
    • Experience managing Jira creating workflows, schemes, etc.
    • Experience with API integrations to/from Atlassian products
    • Strong troubleshooting skills on tooling and server-side issues
    • Familiarity with Windows & Unix/Linux administration
    • Able to comfortably handle more simultaneous customer requests than most
    • Interest in adapting new technologies to continuously improve processes & tools
    • Familiar with DevOps toolchain, i.e. Bit-Bucket, Jenkins Pipeline, Artifactory or Nexus, and experienced in automate and deploy n-tier application stack in cloud native environments
    • Excellent data & system analysis, data mapping, and data profiling skills
    • Demonstrate good understanding of modern, cloud-native application models and patterns
    • Excellent collaboration skills and a passion for problem solving, with the ability to work alternative coverage schedules
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills required due to the dynamic nature of collaboration with leadership, customers, and other engineering teams
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field

    • Experience in the financial services industry
    • Flexibility to travel out of state
