The Analyst will be responsible for providing marketing and operational support to Relationship Managers ("RMs") managing client relationships and leading business development efforts, working with large and mid-sized companies across the United States. The Analyst will directly support the Diversified Industrials Midwest coverage team, including subsectors such as Packaging and Automotive.

The individual will provide relationship backup to the RMs and also interface with certain product areas within the bank to facilitate the further development of new business opportunities. The Analyst will provide industry research and company and transaction analysis, and work with the RM in the development of client and internal presentations. The Analyst will handle operational aspects of business origination such as analyzing transaction profitability, performing all follow-through of any deal origination process, and support ongoing management of client relationships. The position will involve use of a Salesforce relationship management database; analytical databases such as S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg and Pitchbook; and various inhouse business applications.

Major Responsibilities:

RM Support

  • The Analyst will coordinate efforts for the RM(s) managing and growing a portfolio of client relationships, providing support where needed including company and transaction analysis, industry research, marketing material production, coordination with product areas, as well as other activities as identified by the RM(s)
  • The individual will prioritize activities in a fast-paced environment based on level of importance, timing deadlines and at the direction of the RM(s)

The following are key aspects of the job:

  • Assist marketing activity by providing client, prospect and industry research
  • Due diligence and analytical support related to prospective client deals
  • Maintain a Salesforce database, including documenting new opportunities and publishing call memos
  • Development of client presentations and marketing materials, often collaborating with various internal product partners
  • Assist RM(s) in new business development activities
  • Support ongoing management of client portfolio, including internal reporting and monitoring activities
  • Act as liaison with internal product teams to facilitate opportunities with clients
  • Assist in documenting transactions
  • Develop a thorough knowledge (through internal and external training) of the bank and its key products, industry, credit, corporate finance and capital markets
  • Attend client meetings and develop working knowledge of relationship development and management
  • Prepare call reports for client meetings

Qualifications

  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent required (Business, Finance, Economics are preferred)
  • 1 to 3 years Corporate Banking related work experience is a decisive asset
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Credit experience or background i.e., a formal bank credit training program is a plus
  • Previous exposure to and knowledge of accounting and finance

The typical base pay range for this role is between $90K - $110K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
