Your team responsibilities

MSCI ESG Research, part of MSCI Inc, is seeking to expand multi-asset research team to support growing Impact Investing and Screening business and research needs by producing timely and insightful content around key impact investing themes, supporting existing Sustainable Finance and Impact Investing solutions, as well as partaking in development of new analytical approaches to integration of ESG criteria across asset classes.

Your key responsibilities

You will work closely with all parts of the MSCI organization, including Client Service, Marketing, Legal, Finance and Product Management. Collaborating with other members of the ESG Research team, you will be responsible for:
  • producing insightful research content on the Sustainable Finance and Impact Investing trends, social and environmental themes, ESG characteristics of bonds, loans, private equity and other investment vehicles
  • ensuring analytical rigor of existing MSCI impact solutions, including MSCI SDG Alignment, MSCI Sustainable Impact Metrics, MSCI Green Bonds Assessment, among others
  • supporting development of new sustainable finance tools and methodologies, testing inputs and outputs of models
  • facilitating transparent exchange of information through ongoing communications with issuers and clients
  • presenting research findings to internal and external audiences

Specific Knowledge/Skills
  • A storyteller with excellent writing, communication, and public presenting skills
  • A critical thinker with attention to detail and the ability to work with large data sets; a team player who can collaborate across a diverse global team
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ambitious, with a desire to bring ESG into the mainstream investment process
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in sustainability related field (masters) is preferred but not required
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in investment, corporate, public policy, or NGO fields
  • Demonstrated experience in writing thematic content
  • The candidate must demonstrate a strong interest and knowledge about the sustainable investment field, particularly related to investment based on social impact
