The Morgan Stanley Wealth Management UXR team works across all Morgan Stanley and E*TRADE digital properties, 500+ tools for Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors and more. Our job is to provide insights and recommendations to our design, product, and tech partners so they can build more effective, user-centered experiences.

Since launching our practice in 2017, we have grown in size and sophistication and are looking for a Research Operations Manager to help us implement process and structure, strengthen and expand relationships with our partners, prioritize most impactful work, and find creative solutions to unique growth-stage challenges.

  • Oversee and optimize research processes, tools, calendar and workflow across Wealth Management
  • Advise the Research Leadership Team on scaling the UXR offering during our current growth phase
  • Manage change for research processes as they are created or evolve
  • Create alignment across research activities by developing standardized approaches
  • Build strong relationships across the Wealth Management organization with business partners, technology partners, and leadership
  • Maintain a backlog of projects and keep open communication with researchers and managers to ensure that work is appropriately allocated
  • Continually assess changing project scopes and staffing needs
  • Work to remove roadblocks through creative solutions by maintaining a communication pipeline with all involved stakeholders
  • Stay connected to agile teams within Wealth Management Technology

Dotted line to the Design Operations team and act in a leadership role to help streamline processes and provide inputs into the big picture of the UX Team's staffing, resourcing, and impact

QUALIFICATIONS

Relevant experience and mindset
  • You have 5+ years' experience as a key member of a design team or front-end development team, 3+ years as a Program Manager, Research Operations Manager, or Resource Manager with proven results in leadership and cross functional collaboration
  • You have an understanding of UX Research and/or UX Design and can confidently advocate for UXR to technical teams
  • You have a keen understanding of how design and research teams work and their role within tech projects
  • You have experience working in financial services or comparable industries, managing complex projects with multiple inputs and phases
  • You have established deep relationships and can influence multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders across the organization
  • You are a natural communicator
  • You have demonstrable management experience partnering and building bridges with stakeholders, teams, and agencies
  • You are a natural leader and can bring organization to high-complexity workflows on moving, changing teams

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 100000 and 150000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
