Proposal Manager/Writer Role:

The Proposal Manager, within the Morgan Stanley at Work organization, is responsible for coordinating and completing Request for Proposals (RFPs) to ensure all deadlines are met, and writing strategically positioned proposal responses to present Morgan Stanley at Work's capabilities to help drive business growth. The candidate will perform the appropriate research/analysis/writing, and production necessary to respond to large, complex RFPs using our key RFP content database. The candidate will maintain responsibility for the complete RFP process, including initial review, response coordination, production, content management, and final assembly. This role will play a critical function in supporting new business development and client retention by managing the full RFP process. This role requires strong writing skills, deep attention to detail, time management, and the ability to translate complex financial services solutions into clear, compelling responses.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage and coordinate the end-to-end Pricing Proposal, RFP and RFI questionnaire process, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
  • Thorough review of the RFP, including identification of any potential concerns or challenges.
  • Summarization, distribution and kick off call invitations to key Subject Matter Experts within Morgan Stanley at Work.
  • Facilitate and participate in kick off call discussions to develop case-specific proposal response strategy, tasks list, work plan, etc.
  • Track RFP projects and uploads the RFP source documents to RFP content database, Loopio. Produce initial response based on best available responses in the database.
  • Customize core questionnaire responses based on the case strategy, client segment, and service model, and incorporate appropriate marketing message.
  • Manage and coordinate the unique RFP requirements including proposal structure, completion of forms, system requirements, document production and assembly.
  • Develops answers for questions not contained in RFP content database with Subject Matter Experts.
  • Manage/update responses currently in the database based on new knowledge gained.
  • Contribute to the creation of new proposal content as required, load new content, obtain proper approval/sign-off of new content for the inclusion of RFP responses.
  • Conduct peer review of RFPs/RFIs completed by team members before submission.
  • Work collaboratively and develop relationships with subject matter experts throughout the company to develop effective proposal materials in support of products and services.
  • Understand department initiatives and key priorities. Contribute to ad-hoc special projects as needed, including occasional sales deck development and support.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience (Economics, Finance, Communications or Marketing preferred)
  • Overall 6-9 years of experience.3+ years of experience in RFP writing, proposal management, or similar role in financial services
  • 2+ years of wealth management or stock plan services experience desired
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into client-friendly language. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work on competing priorities to meet tight deadlines
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-starter with proven initiative and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in RFP content databases, such as Loopio, Qvidian or similar proposal response software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
