This is a great opportunity for a motivated self-starter with a good base knowledge of Human Resources and Recruiting. This position will be responsible for creating and maintaining a labor pool to support the ongoing hiring activity of Mohawk’s Union Grove Campus. The position will act as the hiring manager for the labor pool. They will partner with recruiting to interview and select the best hourly talent for manufacturing and distribution positions. They will onboard the talent and partner with Training and Safety to ensure the new hires receive all required training. This position will also partner closely with Human Resources and Operations Management to deploy members of the Labor pool to positions best suited to the person’s talent and critical needs of the business.


Job Duties:

Collaborate with Human Resources and Operations Management to determine labor, talent, and skill requirements.

Screen applicants by reviewing qualifications, conducting in-person interviews, and administering pre-employment assessments or simulations

Manage new hire onboarding and coordinate required training with Safety and Training teams

Process necessary employee paperwork to build/maintain files

Assign members of labor pool to positions based on their capability and the needs of the business

Maintain time and attendance records in Kronos for employees in labor pool

Manage performance of employees in Labor Pool

Manage budgeting and allocate cost of Labor Pool to appropriate departments

Partner with HR to handle employee relations issues with employees

Assist with implementation of key campus initiatives including; work hardening, expansion of Analytical Methods of Training (AMT), leadership development, retention initiatives and other duties as assigned.

Track and report on key metrics to demonstrate success of Labor pool

And other duties as assigned








Bachelor’s Degree preferred

1-5 years of Human Resources and/or Recruiting experience in a Manufacturing or Distribution area

Staffing agency, or in-house recruitment experience helpful

Ability to work in extremely fast paced environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Access, MapPoint)

Strong ability to create and execute against recruiting plan. Goal oriented and results driven.

Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact and diplomacy.
