The E-Learning designer will assist with the development of interactive adult learning that is driven by the strategic performance needs of the organization. Develops operational and/or training modules using basic design principles to determine the best overall approach in designing various E-Learning projects.

  • Consults with internal clients to determine project needs, develop a project plan, and produce learning solutions for the specific needs of the client. Translates client needs into multiple design options that allow flexibility in achieving the goals of the project. Works with clients, management and other internal customers to establish and conform to appropriate time constraints for each project.
  • Manage multiple training projects simultaneously; involving successfully organizing, planning g, and executing large-scale projects from vision through implementation while fostering team collaboration and task commitment.
  • Design, develop, and implement content for appropriate learning technologies.
  • Format and deliver training appropriate for Mohawk’s Learning Management System.
  • Ensure all materials are clear, concise, instructionally sound, and directly support learning objectives.
    • Continuously improve training materials.
    • Maintain all completed project files for future use.
  • Works in a team environment to contribute ideas for concept development and to refine aspects of all jobs with the department.
  • Stay current on best practices within the learning industry by maintaining association memberships, researching trends, and attending relevant webinars and conferences.
  • Performs other duties as required.


  • Bachelor's degree required in Instructional Design, Education, Design, Human Resources or closely-related field.
    • 2-4 years of learning design experience required.
    • Skilled in the use of authoring and delivery applications (e.g. Camtasia, Captivate, Articulate, Dreamweaver, GoAnimate, Prezi, Online survey creators).
    • Intermediate to advanced level proficiency in the following areas: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe products including but not limited to Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
      • Video editing experience is a plus


  • Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with management, internal and external business contacts.
  • Ability to recognize innovative technology features that applies to carpet industry and helps sales reps/customers.
  • Organizational ability to redirect skills to support new technologies while maintaining current commitments.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and adapt system procedures or operating concepts to fit new situations.
  • Ability to understand customers’ needs and implement solutions.
  • Ability to manage and implement multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
