Summer Internship 2017
Deadline to apply: April 16, 2017
Who are we?
MM.LaFleur is a fast-growing fashion tech start-up based in New York City, founded by two former management consultants and the former head designer at Zac Posen. We aim to be the wardrobe solution for all professional women, creating luxury apparel and accessories at affordable price points that are delivered via a seamless, direct-to-consumer stylist experience.
No, but really, who are we?
We’re a group of individuals passionate about redefining the way women shop and dress for work. We have a validated market and die-hard fans, a quickly growing revenue stream, and a whip-smart and energetic team. We take our work very seriously, but never ourselves. We are as inspired by a beautiful work of art as we are by a compelling data model. We are perfectionists who sometimes spill on our clothes. We pull together profitable pop-up stores in a matter of days. Our customers send us baked goods and baby photos. During New York Fashion Week, we drive around a donut truck. We truly believe we can do it better and faster and smarter and have more fun.
Who are you?
You are a college student who wants to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial fashion environment where you can get a taste of everything. No task is above or below you, and everything from design to logistics is exciting. You’re eager to learn about the inner workings of an e-commerce start-up, the fashion industry, and the Garment District. Above all, you are thoughtful in every sense of the word: you think strategically and critically, and also demonstrate enormous consideration for the needs of our coworkers and customers.
What do you bring with you?
- A creative spirit with an eye for strategic thinking
- An ability to organize, plan ahead, and anticipate problems
- A ruthless pursuit for an error-free world (e.g. no typos!)
- An ability to “kill with kindness”
- An eye for taste; a nose for fun
What will you do?
Our summer internship program is a chance to get to know MM inside-and-out: a crash course in life at a fashion tech start-up. You will participate in weekly rotations with exposure to our core teams: design, engineering, brick-and-mortar, editorial, customer, merchandising, and marketing teams. In addition to these short-term rotations, you’ll work on larger research projects related to MM growth. Oh, and did we mention you’ll have fun?
Compensation: Summer internship is an unpaid learning experience. Interns will receive a monthly subway pass for transportation. Interns can receive college credit if applicable.
