Position: Senior Technical Project Manager

Reports to: Director, Program Management

Location: New York, NY 

MLB is looking for Senior Technical Project Manager who are passionate about delivering some of the most sophisticated products and services in professional sports. Launched in 2001 as the technical arm of Major League Baseball, MLBAM is renowned for creating experiences that baseball fans love - and we're just getting started!

As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will be a leader in defining Agile processes with our world-class product and engineering teams to bring our incredible experiences to market. You will identify issues and fix them; making sure everyone is moving forward, communicating well, and releasing as projected.

Core Responsibilities


  • Work closely with engineers, designers, researchers, and product owners to distill technical requirements into easily actionable user stories or specifications.

  • Work with other TPMs to make sure external project dependencies are properly tracked.


  • Manage all project communications, ensuring effective exchange of project information and deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Identify, analyze, and communicate project risks.


  • Establish team velocity and release cycles.

  • Identify and communicate key performance indicators for your teams.

  • Develop, maintain and effectively execute software development iterations throughout the life of your assigned projects, which defines activities, sequence, dependencies, work effort, duration and associated resource requirements.


  • Preferred experience working on software engineering projects (Web, Mobile, Connected Devices etc.) OR Infrastructure related projects (Database, Cloud Migration, etc.)



Required Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies

  • Effectively communicates with both technical and non-technical participants.

  • Passionate about continually improving processes.

  • Passionate about making teams as successful as possible.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Agile Scrum Master certification
