MLB is seeking a Project Coordinator to join it’s Business Ops & Logistics Team.
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for organizing, tracking, and providing efficiencies for projects undertaken by the Business Ops & Logistics team. This position will focus on building and implementing project management strategies and workflows on various technology infrastructure projects from start to finish, and help turn ideas into actionable tactics, timelines, budgets and deliverables.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong attention to detail, equipped to navigate the evolving Sports Media landscape, and will bring a robust set of communication and analytical skills, along with a low-ego-roll-up-your-sleeves approach to a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist on maintaining all processes related to procurement requests from start to finish. This includes confirming project requirements, obtaining quotes from vendors, mapping out costs to allocated budgets, and implementing the purchase order process
- Provide operational support on updating YTD costs trackers and Purchase order trackers, and work with MLB Accounts Payable to ensure the timely processing of invoices and delivery of payments to vendors
- Create Bill of Materials for Media Operations and Ballpark infrastructure projects, ensure stock and timely delivery of procurement requests for project kickoff
- Plan and manage internal and external project communications, ensuring effective exchange of project information and deliverables
- Identify, analyze, prioritize, mitigate and communicate project risks
- Assist with logistical feasibility, inventory approach, and deployment/shipment strategies
- Liaise with vendors and work with MLB Legal to maintain Service Level Agreements for hardware and services related to operational support
- Monitor logistical & incidental dashboards and create weekly status reports from ServiceNow data and track relevant incidents
- Reconcile budgets with departmental managers of Technology Instructure and MLB Finance
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Strong Excel skills
- Be extremely organized, demonstrate initiative and an ability to complete multiple assignments in a timely manner
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in project planning and management software is a plus
- Must be creative, highly organized, detail-oriented, and solution-driven
- Basic understanding of MLB and 30 Clubs
Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is an hourly rate of $27.50 to $37.50. The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
