We are seeking a Director, Product & Content Strategy to join our team and help us achieve that mission.

In this role, you will work with our team of content strategists, creators and producers, along with our partners in Product Development, Marketing and Business to serve our fans. Our team’s portfolio includes defining content & fan engagement strategies, the creation & production of content, programming digital platforms and close collaboration with our Product Team as the business owners for our flagship digital products, MLB App, MLB.com and the sister products for Minor League Baseball.

Our ideal candidate knows how to use creative vision, collaboration skills and the ability to see the big picture to implement a content & product strategy that builds enduring relationships with fans and drives reach, reputation and revenue with content.

You Will:

  • Serve as primary liaison between the Content and Product functions, ensuring communication and alignment between product vision and editorial strategy, working directly in partnership with Product Managers  to collaborate and give feedback on projects in flight, and contribute to the development of the roadmap ahead
  • Drive growth in Content org by helping to define and track Objectives and Key Results to deliver high-quality, fan-focused content across our digital channels
  • Help define key performance indicators and actively analyze data + customer feedback; implementing consistent tracking and measurement for content distribution across external & internal surfaces
  • Understand content and serve as a collaborator within the Editorial team, bringing creativity, baseball chops and enthusiasm to content creation, programing and presentation

 

You May Be a Good Fit If You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience as a content creator, product manager or digital producer for with a passion to continue to lead the way, collaborate & learn, and always break new ground
  • Have experience in stakeholder management and relationship building - both internally and externally - and the ability to influence leadership, colleagues, and stakeholders to drive consensus
  • Are organized and have the ability to multi-task/juggle several projects at once
  • Have an appreciation for baseball and a firm comprehension of its history, rules, and culture
  • Are a compelling communicator and storyteller skills with strong written, verbal and presentation skills, and the ability to build relationships and evangelize projects
  • An understanding of UI/UX Design and Product Development processes
  • A passion to create fan-first content for people of all ages and across the spectrum of avidity; to meet them where they are in the digital realm and build delightful and enduring relationships

  • This role  should be comfortable in ambiguity, enjoy problem solving, and have a POV with the flexibility to find pragmatic, win-win solutions to keep work moving forward -- all while having fun, celebrating baseball and inspiring others

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $130,000 to $165,000.

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision. In addition to your salary, MLB believes in providing a competitive compensation and benefits package for its employees. MLB offers employees a full range of best in class benefits with no employee contributions towards medical, dental, and vision coverage premiums, as well as incentive and recognition programs, life insurance and automatic employer 401k contributions. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements and the terms of official plan documents which may be modified or amended from time to time.
