System Integration Engineer

As a System Integration Engineer, the ideal candidate will be the facilitator for execution and delivery of features and functionality enabling the delivery of prototypes and finally shipping world class products. System integrators solve the most complex cross-disciplinary problems in design and debug, pulling in the necessary partners around the issues and digging into the details to ensure technical completeness to the product spec. In this role, the candidate will be the engineering interface to the hardware and component teams executing the designs for Meta's AR products and keeping management and technical leadership in a tight loop of status and decision making. The candidate will have a strong ability to communicate within the hardware organization and with cross-functional partner teams.

System Integration Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the execution and delivery of AR Products and end-to-end AR Feature integration from Discovery through DVT phases
  • Lead the triage and resolution of AR and cross-functional technical issues that arise when "as-built" fails to meet spec design intent
  • Assist in the creation of team deliverables, milestones, HW allocations, prioritization, risk assessments, and planning to meet project and internal customer requirements
  • Support as a system expert the technical aspects of build plan, build goals, risk assessment, testing, troubleshooting, and system dependencies with the TPM partners that coordinate and plan build activities
  • Support the Systems Architecture team and HW Design Team in specifying requirements, features, implementation, and development
  • Support defect tracking and management within the hardware team and cross-functional partners
  • Communicate in appropriate media details of the execution of the design to spec
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated communications skills, problem-solving and project execution experience
  • 7+ years industry experience directly contributing to product development in hardware or hardware/software mixed organizations
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering discipline or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience working on Consumer Electronics hardware and Opto-Mechanical design
