Strategic Sourcing Manager, Flexes and PCB

The Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Development Engineering Organization at Meta is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to support product categories with high potential for sustaining human connection at scale. This position will focus on supporting one of the most strategic technologies. This will include managing a global supply base, managing supplier relationships, defining the category and supply base strategies, management of engagement and related contractual execution activities, and partnering across technical teams in Industrial Design and Product Development to help accelerate the shift to high automation and highly technical advancements in the Materials supply chain. An ideal candidate will have high ambition to tackle new-to-industry problems and drive growth for Meta. You must be a high energy/impact individual with a demonstrated ability to succeed in a high-demand and fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate through ambiguities/difficult obstacles through facts & data, evaluation of alternatives, open-mindedness, thought-through strategy, and superior communications to lead cross-functional organizations through sourcing activities will be required.

Strategic Sourcing Manager, Flexes and PCB Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for flexes and PCB components, addressing current and future technical and commercial requirements
  • Collaborate with design, electrical engineering, and supplier teams to optimize product features, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency for flexes and PCB assemblies
  • Integrate supplier input into the development process by conducting supplier technology roadmap reviews and trade space evaluations specific to flexes and PCB technologies
  • Drive strategic supply chain direction and innovation via the Value Innovation Forum with product design and technology operations, focusing on flexes and PCB advancements
  • Utilize expertise in flex and PCB manufacturing processes (e.g., SMT, lamination, etching, drilling, AOI, FPC assembly) to assess supplier capabilities, resolve capacity constraints, and validate cost dependencies
  • Apply analytical problem-solving to SPOR (Supplier Plan of Record) decisions and complex supply chain issues related to flexes and PCB sourcing
  • Lead negotiations for purchase agreements and contracts to secure optimal terms and ensure supplier accountability for program deliverables in flexes and PCB
  • Champion cost reduction programs utilizing should-cost models and data analytics tailored to flexes and PCB manufacturing
  • Create and implement contingency plans for scalability challenges, lead times, single-source dependencies, and geopolitical risks in the flexes and PCB supply chain
  • Initiate and execute capacity planning, supplier resourcing, and mass production plans for new products across all lifecycle phases, with a focus on flexes and PCB
  • Develop systems for measuring supplier performance and conduct regular business reviews for flexes and PCB suppliers
  • Build relationships, align on objectives, and articulate a strategic vision to foster growth and innovation in the flexes and PCB domain
  • Travel (20%-30%) and work across time zones to support global supply chain activities for flexes and PCB
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, supply chain management, business, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of sourcing experience in fast-paced consumer electronics or equivalent industry, with exposure to flexes and PCB sourcing
  • Working knowledge in all or any of the following areas: PCB fabrication (rigid, flex, rigid-flex), SMT assembly, lamination, etching, drilling, AOI, FPC assembly, and related manufacturing processes
  • Experience in supplier evaluation/selection, should-cost modeling, contract negotiation, and supply base management for flexes and PCB
  • Experience with cost drivers and experience building bottoms-up or should-cost models for flexes and PCB
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to run supply modeling and analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience ramping high-volume consumer electronics products with flexes and PCB content
  • Experience working with Tier 2 supply chain partners, CMs, ODMs, OEMs in the flexes and PCB domain
  • MBA or Master of Engineering
