In-Region Reliability Engineer
As an In-Region reliability engineer at Meta (Oculus), you will take a critical role in bringing reliable augmented, mixed, and virtual reality hardware to our customers and the world. You will contribute to all aspects of the product lifecycle from proof of concept to mass production. You will be responsible for the oversight of testing at a variety of manufacturers in the region, ensuring high quality results and timeliness. You will be responsible for producing accurate reliability analysis and driving failure analysis in a timely manner. We are looking for someone who can wear multiple hats depending on the task at hand. The ideal candidate has a "can do" attitude with a background in reliability engineering, high attention to detail, thirst for knowledge, and an inherent interest in all aspects of engineering.
In-Region Reliability Engineer Responsibilities:
- • Oversee reliability testing and analysis through product lifecycle
- • Participate evaluation of vendor reliability capability including facilities and manpower to help vendor selection
- • Lead set up vendor reliability team and lab for program, include but not limited to: make REL expectation to vendor, propose vendor REL team structure and R&R, define equipment/manpower requirement
- • Work with vendor reliability labs to insure the lab readiness of equipment, fixture, setup, calibration, and human resource etc
- • Set up communication rules and train vendor REL team: define/review vendor lab's report template (excel, daily mail, ...)
- setup regular meetings, email groups, chat groups
- set up access of tracking tools (Task/Jira/Share folder) for vendor REL
- • Onsite support and help solve/mitigate execution related problems (such as fixture mismatch, resource restriction, schedule delay)
- • Assist failure analysis and use correct test to identify root cause of failures such as apply design of experiments (DOE)
- • Audit reliability labs to ensure testing execution, schedule, and reporting is appropriately and correctly
- • Participate or lead reliability specification development and justification
- • At least 3+ years of experience in reliability engineering
- • BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent discipline
- • Knowledgeable of industry test standards including ASTM, MIL, JEDEC, and IEEE
- • Experience developing and performing reliability tests including (but not limited to) mechanical, shock, vibration, environmental, and characterization testing
- • Fundamentally knowledge of mechanical design, material science, and failure mechanisms of consumer electronics
- • Timely execution of tasks to meet critical deadlines
- • Knowledgeable of failure analysis techniques including (not limited to) optical microscopy, X-Ray, CT scan, SEM, EDX, and FTIR
- • Domestic travel between Shanghai and Shenzhen regions, up to 75%
- • Ability to independently manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail
