Accounting Manager

Facebook is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its Record to Report - EMEA finance team in Dublin. We are looking for a driven, high energy, customer service focused individual that can work well with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, a critical thinker who can seek innovative solutions to complex technical accounting issues.

Reporting to the EMEA Head of INFRA Statutory Compliance, in this position you will work closely with a variety of cross-functional teams including technical accounting, SEC & statutory reporting, treasury, legal, co sec, tax, enterprise engineering and the rest of the controllership teams.

You will be expected to have a strong business acumen coupled with a technical accounting background and strong communication skills to effectively facilitate information flow across multiple teams.

  • Technical accounting operations: responsible for the consistent implementation of IFRS and other accounting standards, for jurisdictions outside of North America, in close collaboration with the technical accounting team
  • Collaborate with statutory accounting teams, tax and other finance functions to support the preparation and review of accounting positions, policies, and financial statements
  • Prepare/review technical accounting memos for significant transactions in collaboration with the technical accounting team
  • Lead accounting for special investments and complex areas/items
  • Prepare/review of statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Support the Record to Report team in the design, testing and roll-out of financial reporting systems/tools/processes.
  • Fulfil internal and external audit requests
  • Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Able to operate with a high degree of autonomy
  • Experience implementing and improving business processes and systems
  • Highly collaborative temperament, excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while being comfortable with navigating many unknown challenges and changes
  • Self-starter with superb attention to detail yet possesses an understanding of the "big picture"
  • Large audit firm experience
  • Related fixed assets/telecoms industry experience
  • Experience in developing and scaling a process
