Position Overview:

We are seeking a postdoctoral research fellow that is passionate about working collaboratively across the company's scientific network, geographical sites, and departments, particularly from the the department of Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics and Drug Metabolism and sub-department groups that include Bioanalytical, Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion & Discovery Toxicology, and Quantitative Pharmacology & Pharmacometrics groups to advance our translational science capabilities to better understand the potential for drug-drug interactions in patients with dyslipidemia, hypertension, and/or diabetes. Role includes design, coordination, and interpretation of preclinical pharmacokinetic experiments in various wide-ranging disease models to generate drug-drug interactions data and to compare those data to patients' data to establish correlations. To establish those correlations, the fellow will gain experience with software tools of the trade such as WinNonlin and R. Further, data from wide-ranging preclinical model and clinical patient data, by accessing databases and literature, will be utilized to build physiological-based pharmacokinetic models to harness all data and predict future drug-drug interactions risk. A strong focus will be scientific and professional development, as well as publication. The position is intended to last 2-3 years.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment with a multifunctional team of scientists
  • Design, coordinate, analyze, and summarize data from pharmacokinetic experiments in wide-ranging preclinical models.
  • Utilize model data to compose physiological-based pharmacokinetic models to predict human drug-drug interactions risk
  • Communicate results via presentation to internal teams, external presentations, and publication

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Candidates must currently hold a PhD or will you have completed your PhD within the next year, in biochemistry, pharmacology, chemistry, or related field.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Passionate about science and excited to learn new things
  • Scientific understanding of biopharmaceutical and Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion properties of small molecules
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and problem scoping and planning
  • Skills in experimental design, mathematical problem solving, critical data analysis /interpretation

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Competency in physiological-based pharmacokinetic modeling software (Simcyp, Gastroplus, Phoenix WinNonlin, R or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of pharmacokinetic drug-drug interactions
  • Familiarity with preclinical pharmacokinetic study design, analysis, and interpretation

Post Doc:

Under New York City, Washington State and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected salary range:

$75,000.00-$86,000.00
