Our Clinical and Pharmacovigilance Teams manage studies to provide the safety and efficacy data required for regulatory approval of potential new drugs, vaccines and new indications for existing products. We ensure we conduct high quality clinical trials by integrating state-of-the-art technology and applying rigorous scientific and ethical standards.

Summary Focus and Purpose

The successful candidate should have strong knowledge related to commercial Chinese Hamster Ovaries cell line development. Candidate must have an in-depth understanding of cell biology/molecular biology and direct experience with molecular techniques and mammalian culture. You should demonstrate and stay up to date on the knowledge in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and genome editing technologies.

Key Functions

  • Primary duties will include developing and characterizing stable mammalian cell line development suitable for biomanufacturing
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in cell line development and technical lead to represent functional area for biologics pipeline programs
  • Work independently, including proactive planning, trouble shooting and successful execution of complex experimental protocols for cell line development and technology assessment
  • Complete and effectively manage multiple projects within timelines ensuring that all tasks and responsibilities are carried out according to high scientific and ethical standards
  • Interact and collaborate with other functional teams in Discovery, Process development, Analytics, Operation, CRO/CMO outsourcing in the planning, execution, and technical troubleshooting
  • Responsible for technical reports and relevant sessions of Investigational New Drug (IND) filing
  • Mentor and cross-train colleagues in in cell line development workflow
  • Publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and external/internal presentations are expected

Education

  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics or related Biological Sciences with three to five years cell line development or related experience
  • MS in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics or related Biological Sciences with six to eight years cell line development or related experience

Experience | Skills | Knowledge

Required

  • Experience executing complex study designs requiring highly organized data collection and management
  • strong core competencies in molecular biology and mammalian cell cultures
  • Strong knowledge and record of scientific skills in vector optimization and/or CHO host cell engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in applying state-of-art genetic tools for cell line characterization
  • Experienced in project managing and ensure timely communication between CLD and other functional areas within CMC Team
  • Experienced in IND filing and preparing relevant documentation
  • Principled verbal and written communications

Preferred

  • Experienced in next generation sequencing (NGS), System Biology (e.g. transcriptomics, proteomics)
  • Experienced in flow cytometry
  • Familiarity with development of computational tools in biology that use genomic data to generate biological hypothesis
  • Strong publication and/or conference presentation
  • Strong publication and/or conference presentation record

Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected salary range:
$130,960.00 - $206,200.00
