Job Description

The Associate Director, Cost of Sales and Inventory (COSI) is:
Primary tasks for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Accountable for understanding and documentation of the end-to-end business process for costing, inventory, transfer pricing and FSC in order to:

  • Ensure relevant risks have been identified and mitigated by appropriately designed controls
  • Ensure there is formalized and documented business process and controls
  • Ensure documentation is updated to reflect current state execution of end to end process
  • Ensure controls are executed and documented on a timely basis to maintain an effective control environment
Work closely with Costing, Inventory, above market stake holders during the month end close to continue driving process optimization to support the accelerated close calendar

  • Identify activities areas of success for each close to drive initiative to ensure consistent execution
  • Identify issues and implement mitigation plan for following close
  • Implement appropriate tracking metrics to measure performance
Comprehend business process challenges and strengths and share and thought directional insights on best practices
Accountable for coordinating efforts with Inventory and Above Market teams to identify areas of efficiency and drive initiative to optimize those activities.
Accountable for the harmonization of business processes to support the Global Cost of Sales and Inventory(COSI) business delivery model.
Accountable for Internal Controls System (Archer)
  • Maintain control over the Archer system and maintain the information updated especially for the operations under Global Financial Services (GFS) scope
  • Partner with audit to be the US Cost of Sales and Inventory (COSI) liaison to standardize control set, comprehend process changes/control impacts, and facilitate change management
Partner with Business Service Center (BSC) to identify potential areas for automation and standardization.

Serve as the enabler/liaison between IT and COSI team in order identify areas of potential efficiency while maintaining a strong internal control.

Position Qualifications:
Education Minimum
  • Undergraduate in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or MBA preferred
Experience and Skills:
  • 7+ years in accounting/finance
  • Ability to confidently and effectively interact with senior directors and stakeholders to assess and comprehend business requirements, convey project plans and status, and effectively interact as a leader on projects with global implications
  • Excellent communication, partnership and interpersonal skills along with demonstrated knowledge working with global and cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical skills and detail oriented
  • Engages customers and stakeholders and demonstrates knowledge and awareness of their needs/expectation
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Comply with and complete SOX 404 requirements
Preferred Skills:
  • Willingness and capability to gather data and comprehend the desired outcomes cross functionally, ability to influence result making, project management skills and results oriented.
  • Knowledge of sales, inventory and cost accounting
