US Press Engineer

Job Introduction:

This position is responsible for coordinating the technical support for US Press Events, journalist vehicle technical preparation, and other Car Show/Commercial/Marketing events at the Ann Arbor Tech Center.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Schedule US press vehicle fleet through the Ann Arbor Tech Center locations in conjunction with MBUSA and service suppliers
  • Collaborate with Press Team to schedule technicians for press event on-site support
  • Order and maintain press vehicle equipment, supplies and accessories
  • Generate project scopes and financial tracking tools for project management
  • Technically evaluate press vehicles with respect to NVH, Fit & Finish, Powertrain Performance and provide comprehensive reports to Carlines for opportunities to place MB Brand in best light possible in press

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Organizational skills for proper supply inventory management

  • In-depth understanding of technical automotive functions
  • Good automotive competitive knowledge
  • Technical expertise in evaluating noise, vibration and harshness; ability to evaluate quality of fit/finish
  • Vehicle Diagnostic Analysis
  • Willingness to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in evaluating vehicles for production build quality issues, performance problems, fit/finish quality and noise, vibration and harshness
  • Mercedes-Benz specific product knowledge and diagnostic tool experience
  • German language proficiency
  • Daimler AG experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft applications and other standard office computer tools
