Senior Systems Engineer

Role Overview:

  • eMobility Systems Engineer responsible for Electric Vehicle Communication Research & Development:
  • Support of global plug-in electric vehicle high voltage components Research & Development
  • Plan and manage development activities in support of project plans/ budgets and technical specifications
  • Develop specification, test plan and test report
  • Conduct system and vehicle level testing
  • Lead project related meetings and publish meeting minutes, agenda etc. Plan and drive Task Force activities.
  • Analyze and resolve development and vehicle field issues
  • Support PPAP processes, APQP, ramp-up at supplier, etc. Participate and support Standardization meetings SAE…
  • Lead Power Electronics Market Research & Reporting via Newsletters, etc
  • Evaluate new technologies and support with supplier selection recommendation
  • Program management support (PowerPoint development, Excel worksheet development, status reporting)
  • Regular and proactive communication to management of project issues, delays, risks with potential solutions and needed resources

Minimum Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Over 6 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with High Voltage EE system development and vehicle integration
  • Experience with core engineering processes such as DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, PVP&R, 8D
  • Minimum 2 years of electric vehicle experience
  • Experience in automotive high voltage component development at a tier 1 or OEM
  • Knowledge of applicable eMobility Standards (SAE J1772, ISO 62196, UL 2231 etc.)
  • Knowledge of alternative drive propulsion concepts (battery e-vehicles, serial hybrid & parallel hybrid concepts, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Vehicle diagnostic and analysis tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, ETAS/Inca, Oscilloscope
  • Program management support skills
  • Expert level Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Work, Outlook) skill set
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Knowledge of the Daimler Scientific foot print is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

  • Creativity and Strong work ethic
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • German Language is preferred but not required
  • Daimler scientific footprint
  • Experience working in global cooperation’s is a plus
