Creative Automotive Designer

The Testing and Regulatory Affairs Division in Ann Arbor, MI and the Advanced Vehicle Design in Carlsbad, CA complete the competence center. Contribute to Advanced and Production Design projects, create innovative sketches and renderings, and deliver design presentations.

Position Overview:

  • Create 2D ideas and concepts through sketching and rendering that communicate innovative design solutions.
  • Direct the development of clay scale and hard modeling
  • Conduct project research to monitor future design trends and benchmark competition
  • Prepare and deliver design presentations to management using 2D rendering techniques
  • Stay up to date on automotive engineering and aerodynamics
  • Assist in the maintenance of the design studio in order to better foster creativity

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive, Product or Industrial Design
  • Strong Communication; sketching and rendering skills
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, be team oriented and capable of handling managerial duties if needed.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, including vehicle architecture and aerodynamics
  • 1 years of experience in automotive design
