Job Description

Planned Giving is seeking an innovative Development Officer. In collaboration with Associate Director, we will develop and implement a plan to secure gifts to MSK toward the goal of meeting fundraiser targets and to foster the long and short term growth of the Development program.

 

You are:

  • An organized self-starter, with strong multi-tasking, prioritizing and follow-through skills.
  • Action-oriented and eager to embrace new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Adept at creating partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives and goals.
  • An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding.
  • Adept at tactfully navigating and maneuvering in large organizational hierarchy.
  • Flexible in your approach and demeanor in order to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances.

You will:

  • Initiate and conduct personal meetings with prospects with the intention to establish a relationship that will result in a gift of at least $100K to $1M. Work in close collaboration with all teams to maximize gift potential.
  • Work closely with key faculty, clinicians, scientists and volunteers to identify gift opportunities, establish relationships with grateful patients and friends, and execute cultivation/solicitation strategies.
  • Coordinate activities when appropriate with donor stewardship, events, donor research, acknowledgment, and donor communications.
  • Other duties as assigned by Associate Director or Director.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 4-7 years of relevant experience
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, four years of job-related work experience can be accepted.
