Office Coordinator

  • Job Summary
    • The Office Coordinator within MedStar National Rehabilitation Network (MNRN) provides a variety of administrative functions to support their assigned department. The individual in this role will serve as a team lead for Office Administrative functions. Depending on the department/clinic size or needs, the Office Coordinator may oversee tasks of Office Assistants.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Education/Training
      • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required, Associates/Bachelors degree preferred

    • Experience
      • Minimum of 1 year of office/patient care experience required, previous experience overseeing or coordinating office work preferred.

    • License/Certification/Registration
      • N/A

    • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
      • Able to work in a teamenvironment; organized, timely, detail-oriented, pleasant and friendlyattitude; superior customer service skills for interacting with patientsregarding medical claims and payments, including communicating with patientsand family members of diverse ages and backgrounds; problem-solving skills toresearch and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections; takesinitiative in following through with all office procedures and policies;effective communication abilities for phone contacts with insurance payers toresolve issues; must be able to utilize computer systems, software, fax machineand copier.
  • Primary Duties and Responsibilities
    • Greets and assists patients on the telephone and in person with a friendly and courteous voice at all times.
    • Demonstrates teamwork, while encouraging open and direct communication with others in a positive manner.
    • See addendum based on specific department requirements.
