Senior Back-End Software Engineer, Data Pipeline

  • As a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Pipeline team you will be joining a highly talented team of engineers responsible for scaling the Medallia data integration platform to 10x the current volume
  • You will play a key role by designing a streaming message system, implementing fault-tolerant microservices, and providing instrumentation for our operators to achieve .9999 uptime
  • Our CXM platform turns customers feedback into great companies. We capture feedback everywhere customers are, connect the feedback to everything else we know about them, and deliver insights and action in real-time allowing front line employees at the world's biggest brands to make smarter, more informed daily decisions.


  • Build a CXM (Customer Experience Management) system of record that integrates with data from CRM, marketing automation, commerce systems, customer service systems, and customer feedback channels
  • Design new bulk data APIs for external platform customers to upload and retrieve records asynchronously at high scale
  • Build a reactive platform that can monitor feedback data and hook external systems to “close the loop” with customers
  • Dark launch new data channels without disrupting a feedback publishing system that processes up to 100 million records per day
  • Hydrate an in memory database to power our realtime analytics and custom reporting solution

  • 5+ years of commercial industry experience working on complex back-end, distributed systems
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience with Java, C#, C++ or similar object-oriented languages
  • Knowledge and experience working on cloud-based software
  • Strong communication skills
  • BS in CS or equivalent qualitative degree


  • Experience working on API and data integrations with other third-party systems such as Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow or similar
  • Knowledge of queuing technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, MQ or similar
  • Knowledge of NoSQL Data Stores such as Cassandra
  • Experience with highly performant, available, and scalable enterprise-grade applications
  • MS degree preferred
