Senior Analyst, Accounts Receivable

The Role:
Medallia, Inc. is looking for a Sr. Accounts Receivable Analyst to join the credit and collections team within Finance reporting to the U.S. Controller. The position will help oversee receivables and collection efforts aimed to improve operational metrics and timely collection of receivables.  This position requires a driven individual who has refined communications skills and exceptional business acumen.  He or she must be able to work independently, understand and deploy a variety of strategies to navigate timely collections with customers, and partner with Medallians in servicing the customer.  

Responsibilities:

  • Run daily bank reports and apply cash for AR invoicesContact customers via telephone and email and maintain consistent follow up and communications
  • Meet or exceed cash targets as assigned and prepare collection forecast on a monthly & quarterly basis
  • Prepare daily forecast and report status to Management on weekly basis
  • Work closely with Order Management to ensure all Customer data is up to date and Purchase orders are received in a timely matter
  • Work with cross-department team to respond to invoice disputes by reading and understanding legal agreements and order forms related to the sale
  • Respond to general AR requests such as requests for invoice copies, W9, new customer vendor forms and other general customer inquiries
  • Assist with documentation of policies and procedures related to assigned responsibilities
  • Prepare credit memo request packets containing required backup and approvals for auditEvaluate credit worthiness of customers utilizing web-based credit reporting services such as D&B and CreditRiskMonitor and document approvals in Netsuite
  • Run AR Aging report and document daily collection activities on Aging Spreadsheet
  • Maintain AP contacts in Netsuite
  • Send dunning letters at regular intervals for past due invoicesProcess refunds to customers for overpaymentsPerform and complete ad hoc projects as needed

Requirements:

  • You are excited to apply your practical experience as well as academic knowledge from a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance to a fast-paced (and fun!) work environment
  • 5+ years of revenue accounting experience - SaaS company a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce.com and NetSuite is a plus
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Office software, including Excel (Advanced Level), Word, and PowerPoint; and Independently take ownership to manage assigned tasks
  • Ability to provide customer experience while contacting delinquent customers
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple invoice disputes at once (ability to follow up is key in this role)
  • Ability to work with a distributed team, and partner with Sales Management and other business partners
