Inclusion Associate (Path Forward Returnship)

Medallia’s mission is simple: to create a world where companies are loved by customers and employees alike. Hundreds of the world’s best-loved brands trust Medallia’s Software-as-a-Service application to help them capture customer feedback everywhere the customer is (on the phone, in store, online, mobile), understand it in real-time, and deliver insights and action everywhere—from the C-suite to the frontline—to improve their performance. Founded in 2001, Medallia is growing quickly with more than 1000 employees globally in Silicon Valley, New York, London, Paris, Sydney, Buenos Aires, Austin, Washington D.C., and Tel Aviv.

The Path Forward Return to Work program at Medallia is a 16-week paid internship for experienced professionals returning to the workforce after taking time off for caregiving. The program is open to women and men who have at least 5 years of professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce for at least two years to focus on caring for a child or other dependent. If you meet these criteria, we welcome you to apply.

At Medallia, we are excited to be part of the Path Forward program because we appreciate the skills you can offer, the perspective you provide, and the contributions you will make. This program offers you a chance to revamp your skills, update your resume with new experience, and make connections with other women and men transitioning back to the workforce. It also offers support through Path Forward, a nonprofit organization on a mission to empower people who’ve been focused on caregiving transition back to the paid workforce.

As for the role, a phenomenal opportunity exists within Medallia’s People and Culture Team for a motivated professional who is passionate about diversity and inclusion. In this capacity, you will work directly with our Inclusion Practice Leader and Medallians from across the business to create an environment that maximizes creative potential and allows everyone to feel a sense of belonging and become the best version of themselves. You’ll play an instrumental role in advising enabling Medallian communities, supporting our external inclusion partnerships, and spreading the word about our inclusion practice.

  • Advise and enable Medallian Resource Groups. This includes securing budget, aligning with Executive Sponsors, and helping group members to think through goals, strategy, programming, and events.
  • Own initiatives aimed at enabling resource group strategy and/or ensuring partner program success from ideation to execution.
  • Support and highlight resource group and other inclusion practice activities. This includes promoting events, creating newsletters to highlight activities, and keeping our Inclusion Practice page up to date with relevant information and resources.
  • Program management and event planning for our external Inclusion partnerships (e.g., Year Up, PathForward).
  • Help to communicate our inclusion strategy and create resources for all Medallians to connect to our programs and get involved.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-4 years’ highly relevant or transferable program management and event planning experience.
  • Strong passion for and knowledge of diversity and inclusion.
  • Practical understanding of Equal Opportunity Employment (EEO) laws.
  • Experience driving change within a late-stage startup, ideally within the high tech vertical.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience preferred.
