Position Description

AFundraising Coordinator is a dynamic and creative fundraiser responsible forsecuring new sponsors and income, executing fundraising programs andevents, developing relationship and expanding MDA’s business in thecommunity.

Reportsto the Executive Director and works closely with all levels of the MDA Team.The Fundraising Coordinator does not have supervisory responsibilities.


Executeindividual business plan to exceed revenue goals.

Createfundraising opportunities through various business development techniquesincluding prospecting, targeted follow-up and new lead generation.

Leverageexisting business while continually generating new sales.

Deliverorganized, structured, and persuasive presentations, using effective writtenand verbal communication.

Assistin identifying, recruiting, training and managing temporary coordinators andvolunteers.

Managefiscal accountability for significant income requirements. Provide accurateprojections to Executive Director.

Overseeand participate in the execution of major fundraising programs such as MDA’sShamrocks Against Dystrophy, Muscle Walk, Lock-Ups, Fill the Boot, GolfTournaments, Social Events and other community based fundraising and healthcare activities such as clinics, MDA Summer Camp, support group and otherservice programs.

Performother duties or special projects as needed.

Allother duties as assigned.

Bachelor’sdegree (Business or Non-Profit Management preferred) and two+ years’ experiencein sales, corporate development or fundraising or equivalent combinationof education and experience.

Abilityto travel throughout District’s territory as well as work evenings/weekends asnecessary. Use of personal vehicle in the course of employment to travelthroughout the district. Significant local travel is required forthis position; including visiting local business, health care facilities,and events in public places.
