Research Analyst – Banking and Insurance

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in applied economics or applied sciences, business management, civil engineer or a related field with good academic records
  • Proven interest and/or emerging experience in the financial industry (1+ year of experience is a strong asset) and strong understanding of financial and business concepts
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
  • Strong communication skills (written/oral) and sense of synthesis
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Professional attitude and service orientation
  • Professional proficiency in English, Dutch, and French.

Who You'll Work With

You will work in our Brussels Innovation Center, a unique center of competence based in Louvain-la-Neuve, regrouping over 100 research and development specialists.

You will be a member of the Global Financial Institutions Center (GFIC), one of McKinsey's largest knowledge and analytics teams, with 145+ members across 15+ locations globally, focusing on financial services across multiple domains (retail banking, corporate and investment banking, wealth & asset management, insurance, payments) and across a range of functional domains (e.g. digital, risk, strategy & corporate finance, marketing & sales).

Then we would strongly invite you to considerjoining our Banking & Insurance research team in Belgium.

As a Banking & Insurance (Junior) Research Analyst, you will collect and analyze information to support our client teams while furthering your industry expertise.

More specifically, your primary responsibilities include (1) collecting, analyzing and synthesizing information that serve as critical inputs to teams of consultants, (2) developing and delivering expertise on specific industry topics, and (3) directly serving clients by joining teams of consultants on site or remotely. You will hence work directly with clients, consultants and fellow researchers on analyses that require in-depth research, data modeling and client-ready presentation material.

While you will be based in Belgium the nature of this work will be international, requiring some mobility.
