Research Analyst – Banking and Insurance
- Master's degree in applied economics or applied sciences, business management, civil engineer or a related field with excellent academic records
- Proven interest and/or emerging experience in the financial industry (1+ year of experience is a strong asset) and strong understanding of financial and business concepts
- Strong communication skills (written/oral) and sense of synthesis
- Superior problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Professional attitude and service orientation
- Professional proficiency in English, Dutch, and French
- Willing to work in a highly demanding, flexible and result-oriented team environment

Who You'll Work With
You will work in McKinsey & Company's Brussels Innovation Center, a unique center of competence based in Louvain-la-Neuve, regrouping over 100 research and development specialists. The Brussels Innovation Center is part of the Northern European Office, a vibrant group of 1,200 professionals, serving clients across Benelux and the Nordic region.
You will be a member of the Global Financial Institutions Center (GFIC), one of McKinsey's largest knowledge and analytics teams, with 145+ members across 15+ locations globally, focusing on financial services across multiple domains (retail banking, corporate and investment banking, wealth & asset management, insurance, payments) across a range of functional domains (e.g. digital, risk, strategy & corporate finance, marketing & sales).

What You'll Do
You will collect and analyze information to support our client teams while furthering your industry expertise.
You primary job responsibilities include collecting, analyzing and synthesizing information that serve as critical inputs to teams of consultants, developing and delivering expertise on specific industry topics, and directly serving clients by joining teams of consultants on site or remotely. While you will be based in Belgium the nature of this work will be international, requiring some mobility.
You will be expected to build a solid understanding of industry trends and issues and develop distinctive areas of expertise in your area. You will work directly with clients, consultants and fellow researchers on analyses that require in-depth research, data modeling and client-ready presentation material. You will be expected to deliver this expertise through different channels, written as well as orally.
