Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA and/or CPA preferred
  • 3-7 years of relevant work experience
  • Outstanding analytical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Proven project management expertise and ability to manage several projects at the same time

You will work as a core part of the McKinsey Academy team in either New York or Waltham, MA. McKinsey Academy is a New Ventures scale-up that brings McKinsey expertise to our clients for leadership development and functional capability building, reporting directly to the COO. McKinsey Academy helps develop our client's people in many ways. Secondly, Functional Academies provide digitally-enabled experiential learning on a broad range of functional skills and strategic topics (e.g., Digital, Advanced Analytics). Lastly, Custom Programs enables the design and delivery of bespoke leadership programs to reach cohorts of executives and managers at individual clients.

What You'll Do

You will be responsible for enhancing and driving the operating processes that will enable McKinsey Academy to continue to grow and achieve large-scale sustaining impact with our clients.

As the Manager of Operations, you will work directly with leadership to create long-term strategic plans and annual budgets (e.g., client impact targets, revenue projections, product development roadmap, and people plan). You will design, implement, and continuously update various reporting metrics to measure progress against plan (e.g., client development pipeline tracking, delivery team utilization).

You will create and enhance financial models and forecasts to assist leadership in making strategic decisions. Additionally, you will design, roll-out, and manage tools and processes to enable operating efficiencies (e.g., Salesforce for client development team, Tableau data visualizations for course operations team).

You will collaborate with program and opportunity owners to ensure accurate capturing and tracking of opportunities. You will lead the monthly P&L review, including revenue and operating expense reconciliation process vs. budget. You will recommend solutions for financial report discrepancies and problems. You will collaborate with McKinsey Academy and finance resources to oversee invoicing processes. You will manage contracting, onboarding, and oversight of external vendors and contractors.

You will lead the onboarding process for all new full-time hires in addition to maintaining organization charts, job descriptions, and professional development programming.

You will coordinate and prepare for key operating meetings (e.g., board meetings, town halls, offsites). You will also work closely with cross-functional McKinsey teams (e.g., Finance, Professional Development) to solve problems, and drive recommendations through to implementation.
