Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, economics, or comparable area
  • 3+ years of development experience in any of the following technologies: web programming frameworks (esp. JavaScript/Angular/Node, HTML, CSS), including back-end programming languages (.NET and Java)
  • Experience with cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) is an advantage
  • Base knowledge for deployment automation
  • High awareness of code quality and software design as well as experience in team programming
  • Strong analytical capability, dedication to data accuracy, outstanding attention to details
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and keep deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Who You'll Work With

You'll work with our Panorama team in Budapest. The team is part of McKinsey Solutions and McKinsey's New Ventures.

Panorama harnesses a blend of banking and financial data sources, including proprietary McKinsey data, to help clients identify opportunities, improve their financial planning, or benchmark their performance. Performance Lens for Wealth & Asset Management is a McKinsey Solution that provides fact-based, actionable insights to improve asset managers' business performance by combining industry-leading data, analytics, and tools with McKinsey's deep asset management expertise. Performance Lens can help clients to make better strategic growth and resource allocation decisions, to assess operational effectiveness, and to bring investment-like discipline to evaluating the effectiveness of sales and marketing.

What You'll Do

You will work in a creative, agile and very collaborative business environment, focusing on client impact and deliverables.

Being part of the digital community of the firm, you will have opportunity to work on several different tools using colorful technology stacks. Among other things, you will help to implement web applications of our software solutions by migrating existing code to our new web framework and developing web-specific features.

You will help create both rapid prototypes, usually in 4 to 6 weeks, as well as full-scale applications, typically within 3 to 6 months, by working collaboratively and iteratively through design and development to deliver fully functioning web-based and mobile applications that meet business goals. As a Full Stack Developer, you will contribute to the architecture across the technology stack, from database to native apps.

Our IT team is small, focusing on serving our Solution's technology needs, hence there are several opportunities to open towards new directions in business as well. You will be part of this very successful research group, operating globally, thus you will have the opportunity to work in a challenging business environment internationally.
