Frontend Developer - Banking Analytics


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or related discipline; Master's degree is a plus
  • Expert understanding of JavaScript and one or more established front-end JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular
  • Strong knowledge of best practices for design and experience with data-driven UX research and clean UI development
  • Exposure to responsive and/or native mobile development
  • Experience with data visualization (e.g. d3) or a willingness to learn
  • Experience with web testing, analytics, and KPI optimization
  • Proven record of shipping cutting-edge, intuitive, responsive web applications
  • Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through personal project portfolio
  • Active GitHub and/or personal web portfolio

Who You'll Work With

You will be based in either our New York or Waltham, MA office and will be a part of our Banking Advanced Analytics Solution team.

Banking Advanced Analytics is part of McKinsey Solutions and McKinsey's New Ventures. Our work encompasses overall strategies and specific solutions for consumer banking and wholesale business; advanced analytics and client segments; organizational issues; performance improvement; and mergers and alliances. We also undertake work on client issues in marketing, risk management, branding and customer relationship management.

What You'll Do

You will design and build the web platform that aggregate, present, and transform advanced analytics performed by our data scientists.

You will make custom software tools that will be implemented directly within our client organizations. You will help us design our stack, and make it successful. You will also help design our back-end, front-end, and visualization tools and together with a team, you will make them come alive.

The team's software must cover customer acquisition and retention, pricing, fraud detection, customer service, and more for forward-thinking financial services; but it must do so with a flair. You will bring the best of user experience and design from the consumer software world to the enterprise.
