Who You'll Work With

You'll be working with our Digital McKinsey group and will be based in our Silicon Valley office.

Digital McKinsey is a community for technology-savy colleagues who are passionate about leveraging technology to enable growth and innovation. It is comprised of 2,100 consultants and experts across 60 offices globally, who help clients think strategically about how to use technology to create fundamental business change – from formulating technology-driven growth strategies to enabling more efficient operations through the use of technology.

As a part of Digital McKinsey, you will work with clients in a wide range of sectors and industries. Some Digital McKinsey consultants work exclusively within Digital McKinsey while others mix their business-technology focus with broader consulting work (e.g., operations, organization, strategy, corporate finance, marketing and sales, etc.).

What You'll Do

Playing an active role in all aspects of a client project, you will typically work in teams of 3 – 5 consultants.

As a Digital McKinsey consultant, you will have a passion for helping clients use technology strategically to change industries, transform business models, and create competitive advantage. Your work will include gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You'll also have the opportunity to present results to client management and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members.

As a Business Analyst, you will benefit from exceptional training programs in addition to frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues. You will participate in approximately five weeks of training over your first two years and will be paired with a Digital McKinsey Partner to help guide your career. Additionally, you'll receive guidance from your Professional Development Manager around the selection of projects, helping you to strategically develop your skills and build your network.

While all consultants develop specialized knowledge and a focused program as they progress with the firm, in your first few years you will have an opportunity to work on a broad range of topics across industries and functions. For those who join McKinsey as an experienced professional, this can mean building on previous knowledge or developing unique experience in an area that is completely new.
