Category Cross-Portfolio US Brand Activations and Analytics - Sr. Marketing Analyst

The US Marketing team localizes global brand strategies to fit the US market, prices product lines, manages the US P&L and directs and executes on the go-to-market strategy for the US. The Sr. Marketing Analyst is critical and will serve as the analytical backbone of each US category team (e.g. Dolls, Vehicles, Action Figures, Construction, Games, Newborn/ Infant/ Preschool Toys). This role will support the most important US brand business analytic needs and category-specific special projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the US Brand Activation Marketing teams, identify mission-critical business analytical needs, build/ execute analytics and report findings to functional partners.
    • Product Performance: Analyze top SKUs within each category segment.
    • Licensor Analysis & Reporting:
      • Review performance of licensed toys across entertainment properties (and may span different toy categories).
      • Provide analysis for licensor forecasts, accruals and business reviews.
      • Assist with regular licensor reporting.
      • Work with other US Brand Activation Sr. Analysts and Global Commercial to ensure consistent approach and format (as needed) for licensor-facing analysis and reports.
    • Business Projections: Forecast various business scenarios based on potential toy revenues.
    • Competitive Analysis: Assess top-performing (non-Mattel) items and brands in overall toy category and provide recommendations.
  • Evaluate overall effectiveness of marketing programs and leads analytics to determine ROI:
    • Analyze sales lifts against programs at category/ brand/ segment/ SKU level.
    • Analyze sales lifts against programs at marketing lever level.
    • Help build post-mortems and create holistic reports across marketing program levers.
    • Partner across functions to lead this reporting.
    • Provide recommendations based on analysis and findings.
  • Support Brand Activations Managers/Sr. Managers with building US national brand programs.
    • Support efforts to build national marketing plans that tie to global brand strategy.
    • Connect with all cross-functional partners to ensure all US brand activities are aligned to strategy.
    • Create marketing decks and communications to inform buyers, sales partners, leadership of national marketing plans.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders to influence and maximize opportunities

  • Ability to build relationships with cross-functional partners
  • Independent, self-starter
  • CPG, toy, or consumer-facing industry experience preferred
