Senior National Account Manager
An exciting Fixed Term Maternity Cover Contractopportunity for a period of9 to 12 Months from January 2020, working on one of the biggest UK accounts!
Purpose of Position
The Senior National Account Manager is responsible for the day to-day requirements of key account management (revenue maximization, account P&L, forecasting etc.) but also supports the wider commercial objectives and strategies of the Mattel organization.
The role of the SNAM is to offer intrinsic value across different internal and external business functions through step-change initiatives, supporting the short-term and long-term growth of the organization and a collaborative approach to commercial and strategic decisions across all internal and external functions.
Managing and delivering set financial and strategic targets to maximize revenue and profitability for the short and long term goals of the business. Delivered by:
Forecasting: Manage account forecasts by utilizing internal tools and data sources available. Continually reviewing and updating forecasts in response to changing brand and customer performance to ensure sales are maximized and inventory is effectively managed.
Customer Orders & Sales: Work in close partnership with (a) external buyers and merchandisers and (b) internal customer service department to gain orders and deliver the critical paths for short and long term selling.
Range Planning: Building, selling-in and executing effective range plans, ensuring our brands are grown in line with our strategic goals while also maximizing retailer distribution points
Promotional Planning & Trade Execution: Owning and managing the promotional plan from initiation through to implementation with the support and input from brand activation. Working together with Brand Activation and Sales Support to ensure first class trade implementation (i.e. in-store activity, catalogues, on-line etc.
Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of retailer and toy market dynamics. Annual account planning with longer term strategies and objectives making business decisions that result in profitable growth.
Creative Thinking: Think creatively and be a source of new ideas for both sales and the wider business, utilizing appropriate forums and management meetings to convey ideas that will benefit our business in both the short and long-term.
MBR Sales lead: Key sales expert within the Business unit team; assisting stakeholders in developing strong commercial BUT plans and supporting the BUT leaders in their implementation
Sales Team Leadership Support: Leadership role in helping to continuously improve the function of the sales organisation via people and process development driven initiatives

Experience, Education & Skills
- Ability to manage by influencing, building relationships at all levels, internally and externally
- Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to challenge effectively
- Highly analytical with the ability to interpret data and insights
- Proven ability to work as a team player, utilizing influencing and leadership skills to make positive changes
- Enthusiastic self-starter and motivator with a high desire to succeed
- Highly organised but adaptable with a positive attitude to change
- Experience of problem solving and managing deadlines under pressure
- Excellent MS Office Skills
- Degree or equivalent related experience
- Several years' experience in Sales, working with key/national accounts in a blue chip company
- Oustanding account management experience, with measurable results at Senior National Account Manager level
- Channel management experience
