There are over 30 million Small Businesses in the US, growing by 1 million annually, which account for over 99% of all companies, and more than half of all jobs and sales revenue generated in the country? Small business owners are the hustlers who work beyond the typical 9-to-5 job and put it all on the line in order to pursue their passion. And while they may be called "small", they are mighty - navigating unchartered territory in the name of growing their business and serving as a pillar of their community.

As the lifeblood of our economy, it is our mission to help ensure that Small Businesses succeed by first focusing on their needs. The US Small Business Segment team is responsible for advancing the Mastercard small business efforts throughout the United States. We have incredibly audacious goals for growing our revenue and market share, and have several big projects to help us meet that objective. One of those projects is a complete redesign of the value propositions of all of the Small Business cards in the US market, which will, for the first time, include elements of Digital tools and Merchant Partner offers.

Role Description:
The Senior Specialist, New Product Development will be responsible for supporting and driving the delivery of an integrated set of solutions that will impact how our Small Business cardholders will engage with their card, their Bank, and our brand. The candidate will also participate in the negotiation and management of strategic Fintech partner relationships that are critical to existing and new Small Business product capabilities and value propositions.


•Perform market assessments and identify areas of opportunity to create and refine Small Business products that both differentiate Mastercard and meet the needs of small businesses and our Customers/Banks.
•Responsibility for the Product Development continuum, including ideation, design, build, launch and run; Explore opportunities to leverage the Innovation Engine to accelerate time to market for new Small Business product concepts.
•Work with cross-functional teams (Finance/Pricing, Legal, Branding, Delivery, Support, Marketing, Product/Architect, Operations & Technology, UX, Sales and Account teams) to ensure Go To Market alignment and flawless delivery of new solutions into the market.
•Ensure coordination between US and Global Commercial Small Business teams.
•Identify, research, and analyze new technology-based products and services offered by FinTechs and other organizations.
•Participate in discussions with 3rd parties to establish partnerships or unique alignments that could be leveraged to provide value to our Banks and their cardholders.
•Support our Small Business relationships with Intuit and other Partners, in coordination with the Digital Partnerships team.
•Define a comprehensive strategy for the US Small Business segment that will guide our approach to drive significant incremental revenue and GDV from Digital Payments and Enablement.
•Manage content strategy and overall product direction of, our Small Business education/information portal.

•Experience with the Product Development lifecycle and ongoing Product Management
•Experience defining partnership opportunities and exposure to negotiating contracts
•Ability to manage both internal stakeholders and third-party relationships
•High energy; Ability to work in a fast paced, matrix environment with strong influencing skills
•Results and execution oriented; able to deliver responsibilities on time with limited hand holding
•Highly organized and able to manage multiple workstreams in a structured manner
•Strong business acumen and ability to translate strategy into action
•Strong communications and interpersonal skills with ability to build credibility with colleagues across multiple levels and disciplines; team oriented, collaborative, and flexible
•Strong presentation, writing and problem solving skills
•Small business knowledge/experience is a plus
•Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred
