Senior Managing Counsel, Government Contracting

Principal Accountabilities:
Manages the government contracting lifecycle from RFP through contract and management of obligations post-contract.
Coordinates across various business units within Mastercard that engage with governments to ensure a consistent and streamlined process. Negotiates key government contracts for data licensing, consulting, and related services.
Manages cross-functional involvement of sales, marketing, digital, sourcing and supplier management, operations, legal and finance to develop contracting/negotiating strategies.
Identifies, manages & communicates risks & opportunities around specific contracts.
Project manages each deal to ensure coordination of information and contract terms Ensure contracts comply with internal policies and procedures, as well as, federal, state and local reporting requirements; includes compliance with government standards and practices such as Defense Contractor Audit Agency "DCAA" and Federal Acquisition Regulation "FAR" requirements.
Plans and participates in the training of contract practices and negotiations to company personnel. Implement process/system which incorporates approved terms, compliance requirements and post-award monitoring.
Collects and shares information on successful negotiation practices within the company. Improves organizational contracting effectiveness through continuous process improvement, training, and education.

All About You:
Juris Doctorate degree.
Demonstrable success negotiating federal, state and local contracts;
Significant experience with GSA and FAR schedules.
Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational and project management skills.
Team player that exhibits a sense of urgency and thought leadership.
