Senior Accountant, Accounting & Reporting

Overview
The position will be part of the Controller's group within MasterCard Europe's Finance division, reporting to the Europe Statutory Reporting Manager.

Europe Controller's Group is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the financials in partnership with the GBSC (Shared Service Center) and providing advisory support to the business teams across a number of areas including accounting & controls, deal structures and M&A.

The core mission of the jobholder is to ensure timely and accurate Statutory reporting compliance within Europe, while responsible for Tax Accounting and Cash Management activities.

Role
•Statutory Reporting Compliance: Coordinate and validate accounting and statutory reporting compliance within Europe
•Support effectively the preparation of BE GAAP accounting compliance for MCE (including Social Balance, Board of Directors' reports to be published at Belgian National Bank), as well as information provided to the Workers' Council.
•Statistical Surveys - Prepare Local National Bank enquiries & statistical surveys (collect of information, analysis, coordination,…) for all European entities and branches.
•Responsible for Tax accounting activities, including deferred tax accounting, VAT return, VAT turnover, tax audit support, payroll reconcillation,…); preparation of balance sheet reconciliations related to taxes & VAT.
•Cash Management activities: Processing manual payment requests, Bank accounts management, Facilitate bank administration, Prepare external auditor information packs for all company bank accounts, Perform key SOX controls, Manage CM related projects (payment automation, ORM, bank accounts review)
•Financial Integrity - Validate Financial Integrity of Europe Region books: Perform/Review detailed P&L and BS reviews at statutory book level within Europe and proactively identify issues;
•Coordinate with shared service center to resolve issues identified to ensure financial integrity of books;
- Promote and maintain a strong control environment (SOX, BCP, process docs,…)

All about you
•CPA or relevant accounting certification
• Strong relevant work experience
•Oracle R12 Financial experience preferred; Hyperion experience is a plus
•Strong knowledge BE GAAP and US GAAP is a plus
•Strong analytical skills and structure
•Excellent communication and organizational skills, high sense of initiative and urgency
•Fluency in English is required
