Overview
•The Enterprise Security Solutions (ESS) Security and Decision Product team is responsible for the development of products focused on mitigating fraud while optimizing revenue and client experience for our clients and cardholders.
•The Manager, Product Development and Innovation - Data Scientist, will be responsible for the innovation and leadership of next generation Mastercard real time fraud management and decisioning services with a specific focus on the development and application of data analytics to drive more effective real time authentication and authorization decisioning by ESS customers.

Role
Provide thought leadership and subject-matter expertise in the product development efforts related to ESS decisioning product capabilities and performance.
Research and provide insight on the latest trends and advancements in data science and the nuances and applicability of ways to further enhance the unique real-time environment in which ESS services operate. This will include impacts and strategy related to the growth of card use via non-traditional channels ("Internet of Things"). Provide critical updates and recommendations to ESS product owners and engineering teams on both strategic and operational impacts.
Provide subject matter expertise on requirements development, identification and assessment of potential partners to enhance and fill gaps in service offerings.
Drive development of analytic efforts for real-time security and decisioning services and innovations, working with both external customers and internal stakeholders.
Generate new data-driven products in anticipation of response to customer needs, market trends, and competitive opportunities
Define and create new prototypes, iterative design and delivery for data-driven products and/or services using modern data analysis, machine learning and statistical approaches. Collaborates with technical developers to translate data-driven product requirements into technical specifications ensuring mutual understanding and minimizing time to market.
Validates technical delivery and ensures that output complies with the product requirements and is fit-for-purpose.
Partner with and mentor fraud analytics team/experts within Mastercard as well as actively interact with senior management within ESS and cross-functionally within Mastercard.

All About You
M.S. degree (Ph.D. helpful) in quantitative disciplines such as machine learning, data science, or statistics
Demonstrated passion for data science and a desire to drive use of new technology and techniques to develop new products and bring them to market
Demonstrated expertise in the large scale, high performance data science efforts that operate in a real time environment
Experience in overseeing rapid prototyping of big data applications.Deep understanding of and experience using machine learning and statistical techniques.
Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to clearly explain complex topics to Sr. management, as well as dive deep as needed with other internal and industry experts.
Experience with big data appliance and software frameworks including Netezza and Hadoop is required
Experience with integration of offline data and analysis into real-time, real world applications and services.
Demonstrated business acumen related to risk management and or fraud data experience.
Demonstrated hand-on modeling and analytics expertise using tools like R, Python, SQL, Scala, SAS, and Enterprise Miner.
Comprehensive and proven problem-solving skills.
