Manager, New Payment Flows

The Manager in the New Payment Flows area will be responsible for identifying, assessing and closing on the opportunity, as well as architecting the solution aiming to capture relevant new payment flows in Mexico. New payment flows may be in the form of government transfers and/or, subsidies, schollarships, microloans disbursements or microsavings, secured loans, food & meal vouchers, remittances, mass transit spend or person to person (P2P). These opportunities may contribute to drive financial inclusion metrics, which are in line with the core values of the Company.
The ideal candidate will possess both a proven consultative sales approach background and payments industry savviness that enables him/her to engage in proper conversations with prospects and clients to generate new business deals, as well as to hold meaningful conversations with internal stakeholders.

In Mexico, the opportunity is large since +80% of the transactions are still done in cash. The vertical of New Payment Flows evolves from one that was primarily focused in developing the Government and Microfinance sectors. Yet, there are plenty of business opportunities that might be larger and more profitable. It is required that we expand the reach, focus on visualizing the payment flow from end-to-end, identify where there is a fit for Mastercard products and services and focus on capturing the flow.
The incumbent should be able to assess whom are the relevant actors required in the creation of the ecosystem, whether it might be Government, Regulators, MFI players, Private stakeholders, Fintech companies, to name a few, so to create a compelling business case, support the Director of the area to hold proper conversations internally and act accordingly to capitalize on the opportunity.
The ideal candidate will possess both a proven consultative sales approach background and payments industry savviness that enables him/her to engage in proper conversations with prospects and clients to generate new business deals, as well as to hold meaningful conversations with internal stakeholders.
The incumbent will need to reach out to different groups either regional or global to obtain experiences and best get best practices, understand deeper MA products and services so to architect the proper solution in a customized way and coordinate internal teams or individuals to implement the solution.
The position of Manager of New Payment Flows reports into the Director of New Payment Flows. They both belong to the Market Development business unit.
