Manager, Global Convenings

The Center for Inclusive Growth is the philanthropic hub at Mastercard. The organization seeks to ensure that the benefits of an expanding economy accrue to all segments of society. Through research, data philanthropy, programs and strategic engagement, the Center addresses the dual challenges of income and information inequality to advance equitable and sustainable economic growth and financial inclusion around the world. The Center's work is at the heart of Mastercard's objective to be a force for good in the world.

The Manager, Global Convenings is responsible for the Center's efforts to host high level, multi-stakeholder global events that bring together thought leaders on the front lines of inclusive growth. The objective of the Center's global convenings is to enable the sharing of learnings, insights and ideas on how to advance the core elements of Mastercard's inclusive growth agenda: advancing financial security, economic development, tools to help workers navigate the new economy, and data for impact. As the architect of the global convenings, the Manager, Global Convenings will work with internal and external stakeholders to design, execute, refine and evaluate a set of events that support the organization's goal to be a leading private sector voice and resource on inclusive growth.


•Project manage, plan and oversee all elements of the execution of executive-level meetings, events and special initiatives
•Liaise with the team to define the scope and objectives of the meeting/event and alignment with the company and Center's strategic initiatives
•Manage all aspects of events including catering requirements, equipment rental, insurance requirements, conference room set up and logistics
•Handle budgets, contracts and invoices, driving cost savings and efficiencies throughout the process
•Collaborate with the VP, Strategic Engagement and Director, Digital Engagement to shape outreach, advertising and public relations strategies related to events
•Liaise with participants, handle high level participants, and staff C-level executives
•Coordinate internal and external communications pre- and post- event in partnership with the company's and the Center's content and communications teams
•Provide general administrative support to ensure effective and efficient operations, as needed

All About You:

•Five years of experience in hospitality, event management and operations logistics, with meaningful experience shaping strategy and leading execution for high level multi-stakeholder events
•Strategic mind with direct experience managing diverse teams and multiple stakeholders to successfully execute large/complex projects
•Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, including at the C-level, to synthesize diverse and competing perspectives and articulate and execute against a convenings strategy
•Ability to make decisions under pressure, remain calm and professional at all times, and work accurately and in a timely manner
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point is preferred; good knowledge of database management is a plus (Salesforce)
•Excellent organizational, planning and communication skills (verbal and written)
•Strong budget, forecasting and analytical skills
•Bachelors degree preferred
