Role

Support development of, and lead the execution of Colombia & Ecuador Acceptance strategy including the transition to multi-acquirer environment.

In partnership with Acquirers, develop, and implement acceptance related programs and initiatives to increase card acceptance in both established and emerging markets. Plans and executes business plans which promote the value and profitability of MasterCard acceptance. Has overall responsibility for several strategic merchant partners in business segments like: established merchant categories, non face to face, healthcare, supermarkets, small ticket segments, public sector or recurring payment.

Lead business development activities in support of strategic opportunities to expand acceptance in under developed segments and/or cash only segments.

Understand market trends to determine impact to business segment and develop opportunities that hold the best potential for future business growth with strategic merchant partners. Generate long term commercial alliances with acquirers and strategic merchants to promote merchant preference and cardholder benefits that create a positive impact on incremental revenue.

Perform analysis of market information and competitive intelligence and identify broad business initiatives that provide an appreciable return on financial investments. Build strong business cases including financial analysis to generate positive impacts in card-holders attrition reduction, incremental card activation rates and new revenue streams for MasterCard through merchant/acquirer programs.

Create opportunities by researching and identifying issues, then assuming responsibility for creating resolution strategy in support of merchant and acquirer relationships.

Provide superior strategic account management (with strategic merchants, acquirers and new value chain players such as MSPs and Payment Facilitators) by demonstrating market leadership and support.

Leverage the merchant relationships to grow co-brand card

All About You

Have extensive knowledge of cards industry, acquiring activities, merchant relationships. Proven experience in complex sales and negotiation of commercial business alliances. Advanced analytical, leadership, relationship management and interpersonal skills required. Others: strong business/market/financial analysis and project management skills.
Advanced interpersonal and communication skills required with a solid track record of developing external relationships.
Extensive knowledge and a demonstrated history of customer service principles.
Ability to work cross functionally at MasterCard to develop merchant MasterCard usage programs
