Director - GBSC LFI Operations and IP Services

The GBSC (Global Business Services Center) is the shared services organization for Mastercard. Consistent with the One LFI model, GBSC is partnering with the Law and Franchise Integrity team to build a legal shared services function. The GBSC team is predominantly co-located in a collaborative working environment in the heart of the MasterCard Technology Operations headquartered in St. Louis, MO. Select regional hubs exist to provide additional scale and agility. The GBSC provides services to all regions and all business units spanning 50 countries.

The Director, GBSC Legal Operations and IP Services will have oversight for several operational activities, while also leading a team of Intellectual Property professionals. This role is a key member of the GBSC Legal, Franchise and Compliance Services leadership team and will work closely with the functional lead to effectively manage and improve the team's operations.

•You will provide day-to-day management support for the GBSC team supporting IP services
•Partner with the LFI IP leadership team to expand the scope of services supported by the GBSC
•Collaborate with Legal, Franchise, and Compliance support area leads within the GBSC to address issues impacting service delivery
•Coordinate or lead improvement initiatives across all of the GBSC Legal, Franchise and Compliance support areas
•Work with GBSC foundational support teams (Service Management, Analytics & Automation, and the GBSC Helpdesk) to improve the service delivery model
•Periodically assess team operations to ensure compliance with relevant Mastercard policies and procedures
•Coordinate department meetings, trainings, teambuilding events and other initiatives
•Maintain communications channels and reference materials, such as org charts, webpages, newsletters, etc.
•Serve as a liaison between GBSC Legal, Franchise and Compliance Services and other GBSC functional teams on various initiatives
•Assist leadership team with preparation of reports and meeting presentations

•Strong project management experience, including the creation of project plans and status reports
•Excellent ability to influence and obtain engagement from others
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•Demonstrated ability to manage workloads involving tasks of varying priority and complexity
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with emphasis on collaborating with key stakeholders
•Ability to recognize when to escalate and when to exercise independent judgement and discretion
•Knowledge of patent and trademark prosecution a plus
